Hi Everyone,
I had a great conversation with Valerie Bauman from Newsweek. Below is the request for help covering missing person cases for a new true crime podcast.
It is up to you to decide how involved you would like to become and to work out any details of your participation with Ms. Bauman. This is not a Websleuths project. I'm posting this information hoping that some of the missing cases that have not received any publicity might receive much-needed exposure.
Thank you,

Tricia

I'm Valerie Bauman, an investigative reporter at Newsweek. I'm developing a true crime podcast focused on unsolved missing persons cases. We would like to include some that have been advanced or had new and interesting questions raised by websleuth members. I'd like to interview some of the online sleuths about the case(s) and get their help to advance the investigation and raise awareness of cases that otherwise may not be getting enough attention.
The challenge is, we need cases that have twists and turns, multiple leads and dead ends, and potentially multiple suspects at different points in time. This is because, too often, a case is about someone who stepped outside the door and was never seen again. While these cases are also important, it's difficult to make a half-hour episode about a case where so little is known.
So, I turn to you, and the websleuths, to help me identify cases we can cover that have some legs to them. We also need to avoid high-profile cases that have had a lot of coverage. We don't have to be the first to cover a case, but we don't want to duplicate the work if multiple documentaries and podcasts have already been done on a case.
I'm happy to answer questions. My email is [email protected].

Hi,
Im bell ND I made my own true crime odcast bout my beat friend who went missing from my own apartment. He stayed with me and this is my own story of us. You don't hear it from someone else but from the person who went true it. Rob francis is a black guy who is from Florida and I'm a white women from Europe and was living in Florida, I seen with my own eyes that little to no interest is to search for a black man. I think your podcast might be interesting. Please listen to my podcast 🙏
