I believe that he is AL's son, AL. I believe they are the same person. Looking for that other video now.

I can't find it and I have to go help my mom with something so I will be back in a little while. But from what I had in my mine, it is the same person. Sitting at ALs right in a chair. I will look again later. Until then I will be hoping when I get back there will have been an arrest.

Let me say first that I am sorry to hear about your experiences.

Respectfully, the problem here is that evil ends are often preceeded by good-seeming behavior. Serial killers smile, genocidal dictators kiss babies, incestuous molestors hug and tickle, terrorists wave Bibles and Korans and proclaim their love of god while murdering children. As intelligent people we have to make a choice, do we condemn the mask or the maniac.

Our fear driven media urges us to do the former. They would have us locked up tight, huddled before our TVs awaiting their next warning. But the truth is this: the man who smiled at your kid is almost certainly nothing more than a nice guy who likes kids, the smile is not a perverted lear; the tickle or hug was horseplay and nothing more; the guy with the holy book praising Allah or Jesus probably doesn't dream of mass murder; the quiet neighbor does not have a cellar full of dead hookers.

That's part of the tragedy of crime, the damage continues long after the actual perpetrator has exited the scene. Good and decent is seen as evil, and viewed with suspition -- and often in direct proportion.

Obviously in this case we suspect that the most horrid crime imaginable took place, so it is proper that we view everyone as a potential suspect. My only caution is this, in bold for emphasis:

GOOD SEEMING BEHAVIOR IS NOT EVIDENCE OF EVIL. It is evidence of itself, in this case that these two had a close relationship at that point in time. Nothing more can or should be infered from it.

Again, I am sorry for what you went through as a child.

Here is where I am coming from. This 23 yr old had his truck taken in to forensics on the first day of the investigation. It is still impounded. Also, he did some prison time for a felony. He lives with Celina's family so he was possibly present when she went missing. He is not a relative and has not grown up with her her entire life, as the other older brother has. Given all of that I think it is wise to be somewhat suspicious.

The comments I made about his horseplay were in response to someone elses statement. They said she looked comfortable and seemed very close to him.
My reply is that it can look that way to others, even if there is ongoing sexual abuse taking place. My relationship with my abuser was complicated because he did 'love' me and pay attention to me. He rough housed and kidded around in public. It would have looked like I was very close to him as well. But looks can be deceiving.

You are correct that sometimes things are purely innocent. My 23 yr old son rough houses with his little sister too. They are very close and it is all in good fun. I get that. I just want others to keep in mind that 'sometimes' things are not what they seem.

I now see that they are the same guy.

Goes to show you that it's true, that witnesses don't always remember correctly what they actually saw at a crime scene, etc.

In this past week I've been looking at the satelitte images and all the photos posted here and JUST this second realized I cross the border into Canada on my honeymoon many many years ago by driving right thru Colebrook and past that house!

Regarding the layout of the house: I've lived in apartments like that, in houses that were divided into apartments. It's not always easy to figure out which windows, doors, etc. go to each apartment. Often they're not so neatly divided. For example, if you looked at one I lived in from the outside, you'd think I had the front apartment upstairs because of where the door was, but it was in the back. And in another I had rooms on both the east and west side, even though it might look from the street as though my apt. was entirely on one side. So it's hard to figure out.

As far as the clothes: My guess would be that she had on the same clothes all day, and that wouldn't be hard for family to remember. I would think LE checked to be sure that those clothes weren't in her room or in the house, so it was a safe bet that that's what she was wearing. Of course that doesn't mean that she was wearing those if she did go to bed; she could have changed to pajamas and put the same clothes back on in the early morning the next day. Some kids do that, even if they don't end up wearing them all day again for a second day.

Her obit says she liked swimming and fishing, so maybe she left the house to do that the next morning.

I do not think an 11 yr old gets up at 7 am and leaves all alone to go swimming, without telling anyone else. Swimming and fishing , for an 11 yr old, are social activities. You swim with friends and family. And you don't go to a river all alone at sunrise, secretly. I really doubt it happened that way. imoo

Wouldn't her fishing equipment be missing? Wouldn't there be a towel found at the drowning site if she just accidentally died while she was having a secret swim?

I think it is more likely that someone raped her and threw her in the river, sadly.

When my niece was 9 years old she let herself into the neighbors yard and had herself a big ol' time swimming in their pool by herself. Kids are as different as adults are and some are just as comfortable spending time alone as they are with their peers. Some are actually more comfortable spending time alone.
