Thank you WS member Purrrsevere for bringing this case to our attention.

Just saw this on WMUR for the anniversary. Tragic. Hope the now-adult children are alright.

On a random note, I realized the house is actually for sale as a 1br x 1br side by side duplex and I have looked at the listing a few times.

I've just looked at the listing too, and cannot believe the high price!!
$300,000 for what looks like a 2 bedroom wooden shack.
Wow, you don't get much for your money in NH!!!:eek::eek:

If you go to Google Earth, it looks like the house is well surrounded by other houses to a great deal. That means that the killer(or killers) was familiar with the house and had been there numerous times(I suspect).

It would help, however, if the police had disclosed where the children found their parents. Then we could determine if it was more planned or an unexpected encounter.

This doesn’t really answer my question, though, which is where the children discovered their parents bodies. It just goes into their connections to drug dealers.

drug dealer + missing drugs + kingpin arrested "on other charges" + murder = suspect. I think that pdf answers the "who" question. Now is just the "how to prove it" question.

How do we know this?
The house was a duplex one bedroom on one side one bedroom on the other full kitchen bathroom living room. At the time of this incident the back and right hand side of the house were surrounded by woodland. My step brother was not found in his boxers neither was he found downstairs as it is a one-story house. I am David's stepsister and lived in one of the duplexes at that address. I found their bodies after picking the kids up from school. Both kids now of course adults are doing well. We appreciate any information that comes across this website regarding this tragedy.

  • Found dead: May 19, 1993
  • Case status: Unsolved homicides
David Carreau, 32, and his wife Deborah, 36, were killed in their home at 51 Warren Ave. in Goffstown on May 19, 1993.

Authorities said both victims died of multiple gunshot wounds.

The couple was married for 13 years. David, an Air Force veteran, and Deborah, a hairstylist, left behind two young children.

The children had just come home from school when the couple’s son found his parents’ bodies.
Police sources told WMUR in the 1990s that a man who later served jail time on unrelated charges was considered a suspect in the killings.

No one has been arrested in connection with this case, however.

Years ago, I stumbled across some relevant information indicating this double-murder may have had nothing to do with drugs. Lately, I've asked my friends if they were these victim's now adult kids, would they - after all this time - want to know; especially if the reason was so petty and nonsensical It just might be more hurtful than not knowing. Each friend I asked, said they wouldn't want to know, especially after all this time. One friend said, I should try to find a way to ask them, so I am. Would you really want to hear this, knowing that some jerk might have killed the parents of two children because of something so trivial?
