She was 18-30 years old, 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighed 111 pounds and had neon green finger and toenails. She has a tattoo on the small of her back of a bird feather with birds flying out of it.

There is so little information released. Odd. Body of woman found in I-89 breakdown lane in Hopkinton
That article has been updated with a picture of her tattoo. Also now says “The woman's cause of death was blunt impact head injuries, according to the medical examiner. The manner of death is still being investigated.”

New Hampshire has gotten wild over the past year or so.

Unfortunately both Vermont & New Hampshire have had a sharp uptick in drug addiction and related crimes over the past few decades. Not implying this is connected, but being from New England, and having grown up in Vermont, things have gotten much worse. Easy access from urban areas right up the Interstates.

This young woman could be from anywhere based on where she was found. Glad to see the image of the tattoo released.

So true and sad, about NH and VT...
We can't exclude Canadian, given the location.

arghhhh. And tattoo location subtle, hidden to most.

I wonder if they have shown this to local tattoo artists. It's a common tattoo theme, but most artists will recognize their own work regardless if it is a popular tattoo or not.

It is a subtle location. I haven't seen the size of the tattoo mentioned yet either, so especially if she was on the younger end of the estimate, or even a teenager, it is possible family might not be aware she had a tattoo. I have older teens/young adults and I know a few of their friends have tattoos their parents are not aware. One young woman showed me and begged me to never say anything because her family would freak out. She has a tattoo she got at 14(!!?) while visiting another state......

Still, the way most younger people document their lives I hope even if a tattoo artist doesn't recognize it, one of this young woman's friends will. There must be someone matching her description who has pics of this tattoo on their social media, so it should be helpful. Horrible. :(

If she is from Massachusetts....it will be harder to get publicity out into that more urban area. Lots of criminals bring there dirtywork up into NH (moo), just like NH brings it's dirty work down to MA (Harmony). I 93 and I 89 regular thoroughfares.
But the case did make Facebook news this AM.

I looked quickly at NAMUS, and did find a young woman missing from Ft Meyers Florida since February who matches the general stats, aside from the tattoo. I was not able to find anything else out about her though, so not sure if she is still missing.

And of course, if the deceased is relatively local, especially if an adult, she may never have been missing.

Just adding this as someone to consider: The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

BREANNA NICOLE ASTOLFI
Age 17,
5' 1" - 5' 2" (61 - 62 Inches)
Weight115 - 125 lbs
Hair ColorBlond/Strawberry
Blue eyes

Her hair and eye color would be striking, though, so many people may know her who don't know anything about the tat.

I never like tattoos, but I like that one! I've never seen one like that. IMO the artist will recognize this.

Snipped

It sounds like they've ruled out that she could have fallen or jumped out of a car.

That piece of I-89 isn't even that remote, as things go. It's barely out of Concord, and not deserted right there.

It feels very desolate in the middle of the night...
police are looking for ANYONE who might have seen activity around midnight....

Which exit(s) is that mile marker 7.2 closest to does anyone know? Stills from the video on WMUR look like it was near Exit 5? Does that seem right?

It does start to get pretty dark and desolate if you head out a bit more and as you go farther north on 89. A lot of rural roads out there leading up to the highways too.

She was found in the breakdown lane, from what I read, so doesn't seem to me like she could have been there very long without being seen. Can't imagine the fright of seeing someone on the side of the highway like that.

She has been identified: Gina C. Maiorano, 27, of Henniker, NH

From the link below: "no word on how she got those injuries and the manner of death has not been determined."

There was also an arrest in connection with the case: " Tuesday evening, state police arrested Thomas Shane Hanley, 30, of Henniker, in connection with the case. He is charged with conduct after an accident, breach of bail and stalking. "

In that area, most motorists would have assumed it was a deer. IMO. It was dark, and people hit deer all the time on I-89.
