Police are appealing for help in tracing a missing 74-year-old man from North Cove.

Nigel Gravenall left his home in the village on foot at approximately 10am on Friday 14October.

Initial police enquiries have found CCTV footage of Nigel in the Springfield Road area of Gorleston-on-Sea at around 5.15pm on Friday 14th October.

Nigel is described as white, 5ft 1oin tall, of slim build, with grey thinning short hair and a scar behind right of his ear. He was wearing an orange thin long sleeve puffer jacket, dark khaki chinos/jeans, boots, and a blue checked baseball cap.

Officers are extremely concerned for Nigel’s welfare and are asking anyone who has seen him, or who has any information on his whereabouts, to contact Suffolk Police on 101.

Police have confirmed a sighting of a 74-year-old man who is missing from the Beccles area.

Nigel Gravenall left his home in North Cove at 10am on Friday, October 14.

Initial enquiries found CCTV footage of Mr Gravenall in the Springfield Road area in Gorleston at about 5.15pm later that day.

Police have now confirmed that he was later seen walking south on Gorleston beach promenade near Marina Bay cafe at about 7pm.
 
The body of a man has been found in Great Yarmouth.

Police were called shortly after 6.30am today, Thursday 20 October, after a body was found by a member of the public on the beach at North Drive, Great Yarmouth. The Coastguard and ambulance service were also in attendance.

While formal identification procedures are yet to take place, the family of missing 74-year-old Nigel Gravenall, from North Cove, who was last seen walking south along Gorleston Beach promenade outside the Marina Bay café on the evening of Friday 14 October 2022, has been informed.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time, but police do not currently believe there are any suspicious circumstances. A file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
