Found Safe NJ - Artice & Shirley Mooney, Lumberton, missing after they got lost driving to Trenton, 10 Nov 2018

MISSING PERSON:
The Lumberton Township Police Criminal Investigation Bureau is attempting to locate Artice Mooney and Shirley Mooney (pictured). On November 10, 2018 at approximately 8:00 AM, Mr. and Mrs. Mooney were driving to Trenton, NJ to attend a conference. While driving to Trenton, the couple lost their way and ended up driving to Hopatcong, NJ. The couple had contact with a police officer in Hopatcong who assisted them with directions back to Lumberton, NJ. After several checks at the couple's residence, it was found that they did not return home.

Currently, they are operating a 2015 white Kia, with New Jersey registration HX8499. The vehicle was seen in Newark, NJ at 2:00 AM on November 11, 2018. Shirley and Artice Mooney have been entered into the missing person data base.

Anyone who may have had contact with the above subjects or having knowledge of their location is asked to contact the Lumberton Police Department at (609) 267-8300.

Headed to Trenton but ended up in hopatcong and newark? Not good, they sound disoriented and/or confused. Is it possible for LE to issue a silver alert?

They must have taken rt 206 ? To Trenton from home I mean.
I wonder what directions the officer gave them...to go back to Lumberton.....to end up in Newark. 80 to 280?
