Family of N.J. cheerleader hit by car after stepping off school bus plans to sue for $150M

Chiara Jones, 18, a student at Newark Arts High School, was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash moments after she got off a school bus Feb. 4.

Chiara Jones, 18, was hit about 10:15 p.m. Feb. 4 on Martin Luther King Boulevard North near the intersection with Mercer Street in Newark, according to a notice of claim filed by the family’s attorney, James S. Lynch of Hasbrouck Heights.
