Police are investigating skeletal remains found in the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area. Investigators ventured about 60 feet into a wooded area near South Stump Tavern Road on Monday and emptied 5-gallon, orange-colored buckets while they apparently sifted through debris.

So the remains were found in buckets? Or were put in buckets for sifting? Or I'm totally misunderstanding this article?

I think they were using the buckets to search through the soil, since the remains were skeletal.

“An investigation found that McGinnis stabbed MacPherson multiple times at a Pemberton home, transported the body in the trunk of a car and dumped him in the woods, according to the Prosecutor's Office. McGinnis allegedly returned to the body to destroy evidence and clean up the blood.

MacPherson was reported missing on Sept. 24 by his family in Indiana, who also set up a GoFundMe page to help with search efforts. MacPherson recently had moved to Pemberton with his great-uncle.”
