Man wanted in connection with 5 murders in 2 states

This is breaking news in South Jersey. So far the information being released is limited, however police are saying Sean Lannon is considered “armed and dangerous”. He was last seen at the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, NJ and is believed to be driving a 2018 blue Honda CR-V with NJ tag U71 JXG.

His ex-wife is among the four dead in New Mexico and there was a 5th murder in East Greenwich, NJ (Gloucester County, South Jersey) on Monday, March 8th.

Sean Lannon was arrested Wednesday morning in St. Louis, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

He was being sought in a slaying Monday in East Greenwich, New Jersey. The 47-year-old also is a person of interest in the deaths of his ex-wife and three men whose bodies were found last week in a vehicle at a New Mexico airport garage.

The bodies of his ex-wife Jennifer Lannon, 39, Matthew Miller, 21, Jesten Mata, 40, and Randal Apostalon, 60, were found inside a car parked on the top level of the at the Albuquerque International Sunport garage Friday.

A witness told Gloucester County investigators that Sean Lannon admitted in a phone call that he “murdered his wife and her boyfriends in New Mexico” and then killed Dabkowski in New Jersey, according to court documents, which also indicated that he expressed remorse for his actions.

The Lannons, who had three kids together, moved from New Jersey to New Mexico and divorced in 2019. Authorities previously confirmed the children were safe.

After New Jersey investigators issued an alert that Lannon was sought in that killing and the four deaths in New Mexico, he was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri, and extradited to New Jersey.

Investigators from the Albuquerque and Grants police departments traveled to Missouri last week to speak with Lannon before he was extradited.

Now that he’s in custody, we have a little more time to go through everything a little more thoroughly,” Chavez explained.

Investigators are still waiting for reports from the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator to determine how and when the victims died, he said.

Jennifer Lannon, Miller and Mata were reported missing from Grants in January. A man sought for questioning in those disappearances, Daniel Lemos, 46, of Phoenix, Arizona, is still being sought as a person of interest in the case, Chavez said.

Chavez described Sean Lannon, Lemos and those three victims as “known associates of each other.

Charges in the New Mexico cases are “pending” against Lannon, according to Grants Police Lt. David Chavez.

Jennifer Lannon
Matthew Miller
Jesten Mata
Randal Apostalon

The first three named victims had been missing since January from Grants, NM. It is unknown how RA was involved and he is from Albq.

They originally named Daniel Lemos as wanted for questioning but have since arrested JL's husband, Sean Lannon, for murdering these 4 and a long time acquaintance in NJ, Michael Dabkowski.

He is now claiming to have killed 16 total people, although we don't know who the other 11 people are.

Oh my goodness, this is horrible on many levels.
The accused has given a supposed reason/excuse for the one murder in New Jersey. No matter, no justification for being judge, jury and executioner.
But what is this claim of 16 victims?
This is a very disturbed person IMHO.

I wonder if it’s true that would be something

Linking article that reports Lannon claims to have killed 16 people, and that his one NJ victim (Lannon’s Big Brother) sexually abused him as a child. The 15 other deaths were in New Mexico and include the four recently discovered. Not seeing further details on these other deaths.

Man accused of killing N.J. mentor claims killing 16 people including his ex-wife, prosecutors say
I saw this yesterday on our local news. I certainly hope there are not additional victims out there and that Sean is making this up for some sick, self-serving purpose. This claim will certainly require countless hours of investigators’ time and resources that could be better spent elsewhere if this turns out to be a false claim.

Man wanted in connection with 5 murders now confesses to SIXTEEN murders | Daily Mail Online

"A man arrested in St. Louis after a nationwide manhunt is now confessing to 16 murders - despite being wanted for questioning in relation to just five.

Sean Michael Lannon, 47, was arrested eight days ago after being wanted for questioning in a South Jersey slaying and four deaths in New Mexico, including that of his ex-wife.

But now, Lannon is claiming that he killed as many as 16 people, something he mentioned during a preliminary hearing for the death of Michael Dabkowski, 66, in East Greenwich, New Jersey, who was found beaten to death with a hammer on March 8.

Lannon has been charged with murder in that death."

I haven’t dug into it much, but it seems like Sean and Jennifer had only recently moved to New Mexico? What’s the connection to New Mexico? Good point that he could be fabricating 11 other victims.

Not sure if allowed to bring this up, but I imagine the sexual abuse allegations could be easily verified...even if there were no photos, the NJ victim was Big Brother to Sean and Sean’s twin brother. I don’t even know if that allegation matters much at this point?

I’m just happy that a quick Google search revealed nothing about the kids - hopefully that means there are people fiercely guarding their best interests.

Sean Lannon, 47, said he killed the four whose remains were found in a vehicle at an airport and “11 other individuals” in New Mexico, Alec Gutierrez, an assistant prosecutor in Gloucester County, New Jersey, said at a detention hearing Friday, NJ.com reported.

Authorities said in court documents that Lannon made the admission in a phone call to a relative, who told investigators he expressed remorse. Lannon has been charged only with the death in New Jersey, and his lawyer says his client was provoked. He’s been named a person of interest in the four New Mexico slayings.

Police Lt. David Chavez in Lannon’s hometown of Grants, New Mexico, said authorities have no indication that his claims about 11 other killings are true and that they aren’t aware of any missing-person or homicide reports that would fit his narrative.

“Is it possible? Sure, anything’s possible. Is it plausible?” Chavez said. “Unfortunately we are still investigating that and conducting search warrants for evidentiary value.”
...
Jennifer Lannon’s brother, Chris Whitman, told Albuquerque TV station KOB that he was shocked to hear his former brother-in-law claimed responsibility for multiple killings.

“They were together for about nine years, and it’s just mind-boggling because it’s someone I welcomed into my home and we had Thanksgiving dinner together,” he said.
