“May have gone to Florida.”

I wonder why they thought it was a possibility. Did they have family there? Did they want to move there for jobs? Did they vacation there? Why Florida?

I dont know where that info comes from either, it looks like they were on a camping trip near the coast and had an accident when they took the motorboat out. Maybe when they didnt come back home when they said they would their parents thought they might have gone to florida. The overturned boat was found 5 days later so its unlikely they went anywhere unless it was a staged accident. (Or maybe ive watched sleeping with the enemy too many times)

It doesnt really fit the ages and heights but could this be one of them?

Couldnt find a thread for this john doe.

Im frustrated that i cant find anything more about these boys on google searching. 2 old newspaper articles and an obit for woodrow senior - that's it!
Surely three missing young men would have more online presence?

I have a namus account. Does anyone know if the public can add mps to it?

L - R....Edward, Richard and Woodrow.

Had some help digging into this case.
Another search for these 3 was conducted in 1965 (cadaver dogs, search and rescue...) Only remains of a tent and some camping equipment was found.
they were all declared dead circa 1966.

I find it odd that there is no mention of the two sons on woodrow seniors obit, only their youngest son

It really bothers me that despite possible being lost at sea, how can these young men not be listed as missing anywhere? And little to zero information on Google!! There was a find a grave page for the oldest brother, but it has been removed. Is there anyone that might be able to further research these three and put them on social media?
I'm really frustrated by the lack of coverage here :(

Florida was, and remains a natural landing place for New Yorkers, particularly those from the NYC area. It's possible that there had been talk about a friend or relative with an open job offer that would be really attractive to these young men. The lack of any real information about them (i.e. college attendance, jobs, personal relationships, etc.) makes this just another red herring. Although less romantic an ending, it seems very likely that the trio encountered foul weather causing their small craft to founder, resulting in their loss at sea.

I'm not sure why, but the parents of the deboer boys eventually moved to Florida, maybe they hoped the rumours were true and the boys were down there.
