I'm really not convinced that the information provided by the man in the photo is completely accurate. It makes no sense that she went to be with one person but leaves the photo out of another.

There is also the vagueness despite giving very personal details about Becca. And the mention of the friend Jack, which is also vague and not followed up. And the drop off with a rucksack when she had a suitcase.

That's not to say I think the man in the photo had anything to do with her death. But I do wonder if he was at the motel but is afraid to say so in case people assume he was involved. The fact that she had heroin in her system could also mean that he wants to create distance whilst also trying to give info that could help identify her. I just think it's a bit more complicated.
He's telling the truth.

I said this early on but law enforcement has all the info they need from him. We just need tips on Becca. I got called a liar when I first spoke out on Polaroid Guy being identified - the reason being is I didn't provide any proof. But if anyone thought that I would be divulging a private email conversation with my name, then they are sadly mistaken.

I can't answer about Jack though. You should ask the podcast host about him.

PG WASN'T at the motel. She had that picture of the two of them together because they were still friends. He dropped her off at LAX so she could fly out to Albuquerque to be with Eduardo. Last time he ever saw her. He has no idea what happened in ABQ.

One more thing: as it turns out, it appears that she had actually consumed cocaine and not heroin. He's not hiding the fact that she was a user of illicit substances - he acknowledged that she used cocaine and marijuana and that the scale was used for measuring packages of cocaine.

To be honest, I spent much of the period during the podcast confused about the fact that lots of things were being classed as "new" info when I thought it was mostly already known.

I agree that you shouldn't have to reveal your personal information. Like mist things when it comes to trying to identify does, information has to be accepted on a trust basis. Hardly any info we accept can "proven" beyond reasonable doubt.

No one thing or person will have pushed her over the edge that led to her taking her life. I always hope that people remember that and don't start blaming people they don't know about a situation they have very little information about. We have no idea what led to her ending her life.

I am confused about the cocaine/heroine mix up though. I thought the medical examiner had found heroine in her system but is it that it's got mixed up over the (many) years?

Just finished listening to the podcast and wow- highly recommend (especially that last episode).
One of the first thoughts I had was that if she was indeed a foster child who aged out (as Maxine the podcaster suggested), maybe she passed through Maclaren Hall in ElMonte CA. For those who are not familiar with it, it was a hell-on-earth center where LA County dumped its unwanted children for decades up until 2003 when the lawsuits and allegations of abuse finally shut it down. There are Facebook groups for the survivors. Has anyone circulated her picture and story amongst any of these groups?

@The4TierBridge , I have The ButterflyEffect podcast on Apple Podcasts, and the transcript for the first episode is available when you open the listing. Just open and scroll down. It says it is automatically transcribed. I quickly skimmed through the first three episodes, and the transcript was there for each. Hope this helps.
@lieber32 , this is the podcast. The Butterfly Effect JMO MOO
just to add that I have not listened to the podcast myself

This is a really good idea. I always thought FB groups could be key. There are definitely people that would remember her, it's just so hard to know how to get her case in front of them. Los Angeles FB groups? The kind of FB group you mentioned? I don't personally use FB, and I know posting in groups is spotty if you're not a member of the area of interest yourself.

I think someone tried posting her in a Reseda High Alumni FB group once (which, difficult because we don't know if she even graduated high school or would've even attended one in Reseda), but I think group admins removed it since they didn't want something like that (asking about a decedent, especially if she wasn't confirmed to go there) in their group. Wish there was an easier way to know what to do. 😞

I AM SO HAPPY, this has been the case I've checked up on the most throughout the years as someone that used to live in Albuquerque! I'm so so so happy and shocked she has her name back! Thank God for the hard work of all the people that got us here, and I'm so happy Becca finally has her full name back. 😭

From the link above, today would’ve been Becca’s 54th birthday 💔 So happy she has her name back and that her family is able to bring her home.

She was only 18. Man. I mean this is sad either way but I had no idea she was only a teenager :(
I am very happy she has her name back. It’s truly bittersweet.

She was way younger than the estimate, only eighteen.

Happy Birthday Becca, 18 was way too young and rest in peace. 💔 I hope her family and friends can be notified, George said she had a lot of close friends that loved her.

One week younger than me. The thought of how much life I've packed in over the years that she missed out on breaks my heart. Another one of the "big cases" that I'm honored to have witnessed getting her name back. Rest easy, Becca.

"The FBI and APD were able to work closely together to identify the stepfather in Ventura, California, who confirmed he had last seen Becca in 1991 when she left the Los Angeles area."

So George Martinez's interview was correct, he said Becca seemed to live or at least stay sometimes with her father in Reseda and was around age 18. I'm sad the stepfather seemingly never reported her missing, but I guess since she was 18 he may have assumed she set off on her own.
