<<On December 26, 1998, 34 year old Betty Vigil Garcia was last seen by her mother inside the “Drift In Lounge,” located near Coors Road SW and Bridge Road SW in Albuquerque. Weeks later, Betty’s mother reported her missing to police. Foul play is suspected.>>

I find this odd. Her mother saw her in the lounge. I believe I read that she "may have been in the company of two men". She waited weeks to report her missing?
Strange IMO

I think a few weeks is actually pretty fast to report an adult missing, especially if families don't live very close to each other.

I do wish this case had more attention.

Wanted to bring back some attention to this case! Is it possible that Ms. Garcia is #UP8410? Ms. Garcia disappeared less than a month before the UID was found about 20 minutes away from the place of discovery. The UID was believed to be male/unknown until recently which could be why the identification was stalled if this is a match. Ms. Garcia had metal in her knee but the NamUs page for the UID states that not all parts were recovered. Is it possible her metal knee was a part that wasn't recovered? There's not much information to go off of, so feel free to correct or share any input you guys might have. Thanks so much for giving these women a moment of your time!

Is it possible that Ms. Garcia is #UP8410

Here is a link to UP8410:
She is a Jane Doe found in NM in Jan. 1999,
Estimated Age Range (Years): 20-40, Estimated Year of Death: 1998-1999

Not much other information is listed in NamUs.

@partybagel I hope and assume she's being checked against Betty already by the Medical Investigator's office, if they have recently realized she's female. It seems possible for sure, IMO.
Do you have a link to more information about Jane Doe?

(Question for anyone to answer):
Does this Jane Doe have any exclusions listed in NamUs? Can anyone find a Websleuths thread for her, or should I start one?

@ChatteringBirds Thanks for the response! Besides the information on namUs, there really isn't much information on the UID. Someone did a really great write-up on Reddit (r/gratefuldoe) but I'm not sure I'm allowed to link that here. All information is from NamUs and the Unidentified Wiki!! I submitted Ms. Garcia as a potential match to the Doe Network to be safe.
