Ok, that is strange. Maybe contacts that were discovered?

Yes, but -- the contacts could be any color. I think?

That form of albinism is apparently rare in humans?

Eye tissue would dehydrate quickly in the desert, and the remains were likely scattered by animals.

Typo?

Lol, I see the 'pink' option in the drop-down namus menu all the time and wonder if its ever been used. I think this was an error by whoever entered the case.

I'm wondering why she was in the desert and why she didn't even have a water bottle.
(I'm new to this so idk how things work, sorry!)
This woman was attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border and did not make the journey (that’s the story behind almost all unidentified cases in New Mexico and Arizona and many of the ones in Texas and California because they’re the border states).

On the water bottle, she might have had one while she was traveling but the remains weren’t found for a long time and when they were her skeleton wasn’t even in-tact anymore. Any specific possessions she might have had could be scattered by weather or animals.

This Mexican news source from September 2022 states she was from “Rancho Viejo, municipality of San Andrés Huaxpaltepec, on the coast of Oaxaca.” This body is really more unclaimed than unidentified, but since they can’t locate her family they can’t get DNA to confirm the remains are hers, so she is technically unidentified. Don’t know why the possible name wasn’t added to NamUs until very recently though because it was publicly available information beforehand.
