A Carlsbad family was reported missing near Mayhill yesterday.The Otero County Sheriff's Office received the missing persons report, though the department could not confirm the names or those missing.

Social media posts indicated that acting Otis Mutual Domestic Water Consumers and Sewage Works Association Manager Cutter Rogers and his three children were on a hunting trip near Cloudcroft when they went missing.

The Nation Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the area where the family has gone missing. Snow began falling Thursday and is expected to continue through Sunday.

Search and rescue is limited in the Lincoln National Forest due to a government shutdown that is in its seventh day.

Carlsbad family missing since Christmas Eve found near Mayhill

Carlsbad family was reported missing since Christmas eve was found Friday afternoon after a search and rescue operations.

The family of four was found at about noon, after being reported missing Thursday, read a news release from New Mexico State Police.

Officer Dusty Francisco confirmed that the father was Cutter Rogers, manager of the Otis Mutual Domestic Water Consumers and Sewage Works Association.

His three children were ranged from ages 11 to 14.

The Rogers family was hunting in the area, read the release, and left for the trip on Monday.
