Missing woman found dead, Rio Rancho police say

RIO RANCHO, N.M. – Police say they discovered the body of a woman who went missing under suspicious circumstances nearly a month ago.

The Rio Rancho Police Department said they found the woman's remains Saturday in a remote area of Sandoval County, later identifying her as Dawn Sandoval.

Sandoval was reported missing on April 15.

Ex-husband arrested for murder of missing Rio Rancho woman found in mesa

On Thursday, Rio Rancho police arrested Michael Encinias in connection with the death of Dawn Sandoval. According to court documents, a grand jury indicted Encinias on charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
