Details of Disappearance
Escalante was last seen in Las Cruces, New Mexico on August 21, 1989. She attended a party at 5th Street and west Picacho Avenue, then left at midnight with a male coworker and went to his apartment in the 700 block of west Las Cruces Avenue.

Escalante apparently left the coworker's apartment a short time later and ran in the direction of Pioneer Park. She has never been heard from again. Few details are available in her case.

Cellutitis is red and swollen skin, warm to the touch. It's caused by a bacterial infection. ( I had to look it up). She went to a party, then went to a man's home, and then ran out into the night? I hope the police investigated it.

Most likely, she was kidnapped and quickly murdered, perhaps she resisted something sexual with her co-worker and she fled but she found herself cornered at some point... this case reminds me of that of Mary Ann Perez, also kidnapped and murdered and neither His body was found...

Debbie's story is sad...I wonder if she has family who can try to get a news station to run her disappearance? I couldn't find anything or any info about her. No articles, no newspaper clippings.

I just discovered this case due to a page on Facebook reposting her poster. I live in Las Cruces for 13 years and Picacho avenue is sketchy now and according to locals around the time she went missing it was starting to get rough. So I think it's possible that someone just saw the opportunity with her, sadly.

I wish there was more info, was the co-worker cleared? Did they end up disagreeing and that's why she "ran" out? Also that picture of her looks like a family photo. Did she have kids? Its rare here to not have kids. Families here are tight knit, makes me sad thinking no one is still actively looking for her
