The Belen Police Department is asking the public for assistance in locating Italy Hernandez, a two-year-old Hispanic female. She is two feet five inches tall, weighing approximately fifty pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Italy was last seen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 7 Brown Drive in Belen. Italy was last seen wearing a red and blue onesie. She was taken by her father Francisco Hernandez a twenty-nine-year-old Hispanic male. He is wanted by the Belen Police Department for a stabbing that occurred this morning. He is five feet tall, one hundred fifty pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

They are believed to be driving a 2010 white Chevrolet passenger car with an unknown New Mexico license plate number. Their destination and direction of travel are not known. Many details are still unknown and under investigation. However, of urgent concern is the whereabouts of Italy Hernandez.

It’s 2.75 hours to the nearest town in AZ (west) 3.25 to the nearest in CO (north), 3.5 to TX (East), 3.25 to El Paso, TX (south). Avoiding toll roads, it’s 5.5 hours to Ciudad Juárez, or 3.5 with tolls.

So the father commits a horrible crime. Possibly fatal and he runs home to grab his child? He planning to use that child as a human shield? Does he think that baby will be his get out of jail card? No sir. You return that baby and turn yourself in. Be a man and take responsibility for your own actions. Another story of an innocent child being dragged in to the parents BS. Hoping for a happy ending to this story.

i speculate that he stabbed her mother in a DV incident and left with the baby.

My sleuthing hasn’t found anything I didn’t already know, besides that the residence she was last seen at is right off I-25 and part of a small mobile home park (Google Maps and County Assessor’s website).

Everybody knows everybody’s business in Belen. I can’t see him staying in town, but who knows what he’s thinking, especially without knowing who he allegedly stabbed, the circumstances around it, the severity, etc. He can’t possibly be thinking clearly, so who knows?

I pray he does like the father in the recent NM/Navajo Nation Amber Alert and drops her off somewhere safe and calls in her location. Whatever else is going on, Francisco, leave your baby girl out of it, please.

FBI agents are assisting in the search.

“The FBI is on the scene assisting our law enforcement partners in the search for this little girl,” Special Agent in Charge Raul Bujanda of the Albuquerque FBI Division said. “Finding her quickly and safely is our goal.”​

It was on SM before it was in the news, so I’ve been anxiously waiting for an update, hoping it was true! I wish they’d share if she’s been found safe, though, and if her father has been found, if he’s still considered dangerous, etc. There are still so many unknowns.
