A 17-year-old with Down syndrome and autism has been missing since Wednesday morning, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.

The father of Rae-Quan Daniels last saw his son at 8 a.m. aboard a bus near 1011 Marron Circle NE. The missing persons alert states Albuquerque Public Schools police found Daniels was at school and got dropped off near the apartment complex around 4 p.m.

Daniels does not know his address, police say.
He is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and tan pants.
He also had a backpack.

There is a lot of confusion surrounding what happened. People who spoke with KOB Friday said they're still trying to figure out things out. For now, they hope Daniels is safe.

Police say he was last seen on Marron Circle near Wyoming Boulevard and Mountain Road. The Albuquerque Public Schools Police Department said Daniels was at school Wednesday and was dropped off by the school bus.

The boy's father didn't want to be on camera but said his child is a special needs student at Sandia High School with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, a genetic condition that affects his mental development. The Albuquerque Police Department says the teen doesn't know his address and has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old.

The teen's father said he got a call from investigators Friday morning, saying they're checking a number of locations for his son.

He's hoping his son is safe.

You would think but Down Syndrome with Autism it is hard to say. I wonder how verbal he is and would he seek out help from a stranger?

ETA...even though my boys may have not known their address at this or even a slightly younger age with being a military family and often moving yearly.

I hope Rae-Quan is found safe soon.
