MISSING (03/15/2006) — Is Shawntell Monique Waites a Victim of a Serial Killer? (article Sept 11, 2018)

Shawntell was 29-years-old in 2006 and would be 41 today. At the time of her disappearance, Shawntell was 5’7″ tall and 130 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She likes to wear her hair in blonde or light brown wigs and weaves. She has a number of distinctive characteristics that would aid in identification. To start, Shawntell is missing seven teeth, has fillings in seven teeth, and a crown in one tooth. On her right leg, she has a tattoo of the word “LADY.” Both of her ears are pierced. She is known to go by her middle name, “Monique.”

There is some good extra info here that is not included in the NamUs description.

Also an article from 2018:

West Mesa killings left pain, questions that won't go away

...All of the women who were found on the West Mesa disappeared between 2003 and 2004. But there was another group of women who vanished from Albuquerque soon after.
Felipa “Vickie” Gonzales, Nina Herron, Leah Peebles, Anna Vigil, Shawntell Monique Waites and Vanessa Reed disappeared in 2005 and 2006.

Like the women found on the mesa, they shared a similar lifestyle.
And advocates believe there may be even more women who are part of the case...

“It’s not just the women who are lost, it’s the families that are lost, too,” said [SP], the daughter of Shawntell Monique Waites, who disappeared in 2006. “We don’t have a body, we don’t have a place that we can go visit, we have nothing. Her memory just keeps fading and fading.”
[SP] says she struggles to remember her mom’s voice. Her mom now has eight grandkids whom she may never meet...

It's so sad. Hopefully LE will get the tip or clue they need to solve this and find the other victims.
