  • Other: Medical - Suffers from mild adult-onset muscular dystrophy and walks with an odd gait as a result.
Circumstances of Disappearance:
Romero left his home in Magdalena, New Mexico on April 14, 2008,*** and went to Albuquerque, New Mexico. According to his financial records, he ate breakfast at the First Street Cafe in Grants, New Mexico on April 15. This is the last sign of him. He never returned home and as never been heard from again.

On April 16,*** Romero's blue 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck was located on State Route 117 near Mile Marker 35, south of Grants, New Mexico. Two of its tires were deflated, but undamaged. The truck was unlocked and located inside was food, water, soda, a baseball cap, his walking stick, and a newspaper dated April 14. His backpack, identification, and GPS device were missing. The vehicle was found about 300 yards south of a trail-head and parking area. Romero was known to be an avid hiker, and it is possible that he hiked into the lava fields of the El Malpais National Monument.

Few details are available regarding Romero's disappearance and his whereabouts remain unknown.

***Investigating agencies report various missing dates. The date of the vehicle recovery is also reported as both April 15 and April 16 of 2008.
