Circumstances of Disappearance
Oberg was last seen at her residence in the vicinity of the 2100 block of Oceanus in Las Vegas, NV.
She was last seen loading her belongings into a U-Haul truck in front of the residence.

She is originally from Butte, Montana. She was living in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she was serving in the United States Air Force, at Nellis Air Base near Las Vegas. Debby had just visited her parents in Northern Montana. She was traveling with a man, approximately 25 to 30 years old and a young boy of about 3 years old.

I have just contacted a tipline about Debbie, I think I might of matched her to a Jane Doe who was found in Canada 3 months after Debbie went missing. They are forwarding it to the investigator for a followup.

Debby had just visited her parents in Northern Montana. She was traveling with a man, approximately 25 to 30 years old and a young boy of about 3 years old.

Summary On December 30th, 1984, skeletal remains were found in a ditch on a sparsely travelled Township roadway near Napanee, Ontario, approximately four (4) kilometers north of Palace Road exit of Highway #401. (Ernestown, Township, RR #4, Napannee, Ontario). The remains had severe trauma to the left side of the skull. An artist's reconstruction of the victim was completed and may assist in identifying this victim. The individual is a Caucasian female aged 16 to 22 years at death. She stood 5'3 to 5'7" and was thin or slight judging by the size of her clothing. She is thought to have been dead between 2 and 5 months. The decedent had extensive dental work.

The Debby Oberg in Detroit (and has a fb account) has a different middle name and is 57 according to usa-people-search. I see where she "likes" Curves on her fb but I don't see where she worked there and Oberg is her married name.

If the one showing up on intellus is not her someone used her ID for sure.

It says that she worked at Curves on her linkedin. I'm not saying that it's 100% sure that this is the wrong Debby, but after reading the link in my post, I would think that Debby is likely to not be living under her own name.

I can find most of his siblings, but not him. Might be the right person anyway? Hmm... The problem is most Stacys are going to be female, so every time I look I come up with 500 Stacy Elder names, but all female. He might also have it written Stacey. Birth index for him has Stacey, later records at Stacy. He has/had a twin.

It doesn't look like Debby's family was ever in touch with Stacy, since in 2008 at least they seemed not to know where he was either, or his age. I wonder if there still is a kidnapping case for Jason Elder? Or maybe it ended due to time. But it does seem as though Debby and Stacy went off together. They might still be together under different names, another possibility is if they later split up but if there were charges to press they might still live under assumed names anyway, and not get in touch with family for fear of charges.

Which obit are you referring to?

I'm pretty sure she was recovered deceased. The Air Force Office of Investigation released a flyer in 2021 that said one of their cold cases were solved and that she, the man and child she went missing with had died in the 2000s. They don't refer to her by name, but everything matches. Innovation leads to OSI cold case closure also, her NamUs webpage has been taken down.
