Circumstances of Disappearance: Glenn Carroll was last seen on July 20, 1980 in Ely, NV. His car was found abandoned about 60 miles west of Ely.

He was married to Mary Katherine Turner on July 25, 1972. She died on October 13, 1972 at only 19 years young.

Big guy! I don't think he was kidnapped!

I was a little confused because he was last seen in Ely, NV and his car was found 60 Mike's West, still in NV but his case is listed on the California DOJ site as a California missing person. Was there a California connection?

Glenn's family were LDS. Glenn's shortlived wife was from Nebraska and he moved there in 1972. His father was a famous mountain lion hunter who had a book written about him! He had a sister, Georgia, who died in Colorado in 2008. He has 3 neices who are still alive.
Glenn's mother's obituary lists him as having died on 19th July 1980.

I have the impression that Glenn committed suicide... the death of his young wife, becoming disillusioned with the Mormon religion... maybe he just got in his car one day and acted on instinct... the human mind will never know its reaction until it is at the right moment...
