Per NamUs Stefanie Stroh has been excluded as this Jane Doe.

Jane Doe's NamUs profile shows "Estimated Year of Death 1990". Imo, the circumstances suggest that the remains may have been somewhat scattered (i.e., found skull then a search revealed more "fragments"). Does anyone besides me question the accuracy of the EYOD?

It seems to me that Shantelle would be a ruleout if the profile's EYOD is correct AND she met with foul play shortly after disappearing in 1987. However, it could also be the case that Shantelle survived from her disappearance in '87 until she died at some point early in 1990. So, yes, I think she'd be a good candidate for a match. She'd need dental records on file though as it appears that would be the only way to compare to JD (no prints or DNA).

On 09/30/1990 at approximately 1815 hours, passerby found the decedent's skull and mandible approximately 50 feet from a dirt road in a ravine at mile marker 9, east of State Route 447. Law enforcement personnel was notified and a search of the area revealed more skeletal fragments. Due to the skeletonization of the remains, cause and manner of death could not be determined.

Is anyone able to find more about this woman, Beulah Irene Turley Kirk? Every public Ancestry tree lists her death the same, “disappeared from NV before 1965”. The only thing I’m able to find is a SSDI entry for someone I presume is her, but I can’t tell if it’s an actual death date or when she was declared dead.

This article is about her husband’s death in 1955. The reason I’m mentioning her on this thread is that the last place she was living (that I can confirm) was Fernley, which is about 10 miles from where this UID was found.

She would have been 43 in 1965 and the PMI is obviously a stretch, but I think it’s worth a look.

I can't find anything more than what I assume you already have. No proof of life beyond her husband's death. I take PMI with a grain of salt after Joseph Henry Loveless, so anything is possible.

I’ve been trying to find why her death is listed as being before 1965. I usually see that when they’re mentioned in a family member’s obituary as having predeceased them, but I can’t find anything.

What are the odds that a missing woman last known to be alive in Fernley is unrelated to the scattered skeletal remains of a woman found near Wadsworth 25+ years later?

Doe Net is probably going to get tired of me submitting potential matches like this. LOL
