4 arrested for allegedly 'running fentanyl mill' out of Bronx day care center, poisoning 4 children
NEW YORK (TCD) -- Four people are facing multiple federal charges for allegedly running a fentanyl mill out of a Bronx day care, which caused three children to be hospitalized and one to die due to exposure to the drug.

NEW YORK (TCD) -- Four people are facing multiple federal charges for allegedly running a fentanyl mill out of a Bronx day care, which caused three children to be hospitalized and one to die due to exposure to the drug.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, Renny Antonio Parra Paredes, also known as "El Gallo," allegedly worked with Grei Mendez, Carlisto Avevedo Brito, and Felix Herrera Garcia to sell fentanyl out of the Divino Niño day care center between July and September 2023.
The four suspects reportedly left a kilogram of the drug on play mats inside the day care center. There were also "traps," or hidden compartments, in the floor containing the drugs, which were located in the same area where children played and slept.
Investigators also discovered a hydraulic press and two "kilo press" machines, which "are used by narcotics traffickers to exert pressure and compress illegal narcotics into kilogram-sized 'bricks' in preparation for distributing wholesale quantities of narcotics."
