June 2012:

Laquasia Wright, 19, tossed the baby boy from the eighth floor of a Fort Greene housing project on May 2011 — but he miraculously survived for 12 hours in a jammed trash compactor.

In a deal personally approved by District Attorney Charles Hynes, prosecutors said, she was allowed to plead to endangering the welfare of a child and receive five years probation if she completes her GED and finds a job.

Her chosen career path? Home health aide, she told Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Patricia DiMango Wednesday.

"I'd say this is the least appropriate job, wouldn't you all say?" the judge replied. "I can't see her in a caring position. It almost defies logic."
