The story goes back to July 8, 1993 when Linda was just 17. Her mom, Betty Conley, was working overnights as a clerk at a convenience store in the small Saratoga County town of Charlton. A customer walked in around 3 a.m. and found her shot dead and $100 missing from the register.

The suspect left no clues as to who they were, and for 27 years, there’s been no arrest and no justice for Betty or her family.

The video, which was released on the anniversary of Betty’s murder, has been widely shared on social media. And it may help solve the cold case.

Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo said they are getting calls regarding potential new leads.

“And some leads have come in and will hopefully generate a resolution to this case,” said Zurlo.

"Initial reports were that a mid-1980’s white sedan, possibly a four- door, with spot rust on the driver door partially covered with primer was parked in the lot. The report further indicated that a white male 6’2”, 30 – 35 years of age, medium build, and clean shaven with blonde shoulder length hair wearing a peach colored tank top was also observed."

''CHARLTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The reward for information in a 27-year-old cold case in Saratoga County has increased to $15,000 after a private donation.

Betty Conley was shot and killed on July 8, 1993 while working as the overnight clerk at what was back then an Xtra-Mart convenience store in the town of Charlton. The unknown person who pulled the trigger got away with $100, and for 27 years, has eluded the police.''

I grew up in a nearby town, literally next door to Charlton, and was just 18 years old when this murder happened. It was just 3 weeks after my high school graduation. It saddens me that this has been so long and not solved, I feel for Betty and for her family.. It is hard to believe that this could have even happened, when my childhood was just a few miles away- and it really felt, back then, like we were all safe and could have slept outside with no fear, left our doors unlocked with no worries....

Unfortunately, so many people come into and pass through the Saratoga Springs, NY region in the summertime for the Harness track, and with Lake George being on that same northward trajectory up the Adirondack Northway(I-87)... It is hard to imagine that this will ever be solved, if it was a random robbery with no connection to the area.. but who knows.. maybe there was a connection.. I will always hope that this person is apprehended and that justice is finally served.
