Found Safe NY - Brittany Hobart, 28, may be disoriented, Manhattan, 30 Aug 2021

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a 28-year-old Carthage native.

Brittany Hobart, who now lives in Manhattan, was last seen leaving her home on August 30 at 2:30 p.m.

She was reported missing on September 4.

She’s described as a 5-feet, 2-inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. She has a light complexion, medium build, brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at NYPD or on Twitter @NYPDTips.

Daughter of Mohawk Correctional Officer Missing in NYC

The daughter of a Correctional Officer at Mohawk Correctional Facility has gone missing in New York City and her family is extremely worried.

Brittany Hobart recently moved to New York City and was last seen on Tuesday, August 30th, 2021 outside of her apartment on the corner of 1st Avenue and 23rd Street in Manhattan.

Central Region Vice President of NYSCOPBA (New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association) Bryan Hluska knows the father and says "the family is a wreck." They are very worried about their daughter who was working as a waitress and only lived in the city a short time. She is described as 5 feet 2 inches, with brown hair and brown eyes and a thin build.

Both the 13th precinct of the New York City Police Department and New York State Police are investigating her disappearance.

She posted on Aug 6 that she was moving to Manhattan, NYC in a week (so I assume she moved around Aug 13).

But I also noticed she posted on March 11 that she was moving to Bali, Indonesia, 2 months from then...

Then as I continued scrolling, I read a post from February; Brittany shared that she was thinking of moving to Paris at the time...

So the information provided states she has a mental health condition for which she needs medication. I’m no expert at all, but I can speak as someone with bipolar that missing meds is a major no-no for me. I do not have FB anymore so I cannot look at her profile. If she posted that she was moving to Indonesia at one point and Paris in another, it sounds like she may be manic. When I was at my very worst, my mind raced with so many thoughts and delusions of grandeur. I was not living in reality and none of my decisions or thoughts were rational. I attempted to take my life twice.

They are asking that she not be approached if she seems disoriented, which tells me her health and safety are at great risk. I wonder what the circumstances were when she went missing the first time. And, this may sound judgmental, but if a loved one of mine was known to have such issues and was not compliant with their medication, I would do everything in my power to ensure she had someone to check in with her on a regular basis.

Just my two cents. She is so beautiful and I pray she’s ok.

yes! Exactly. I still struggle with so many ideas and projects and I never seem to finish any of them.

Something else I found odd is there wasn’t any “proof” of these projects. She’s very into art, yet has no pictures of any of her paintings, and posts pictures of other peoples art. It makes me wonder if she ever actually started or finished any of these projects

I went through ALL of her social media posts and at first I thought this was the case, but she actually did travel abroad by herself quite a bit back in 2017. But ever since then it seems more along the lines of delusions of grandeur, MOO. I really hope she is found safe.

A 28-year-old Carthage native, who was reported missing in New York City last month, has been found.

According to her father, Brittany Hobart has turned up in a hospital in New Jersey.


Her father, Dan Hobart, tells 7 News that Brittany has no physical injuries, but exactly how she ended up in a New Jersey hospital is not yet known.

He said the family’s prayers have been answered and he can’t wait to see her.
