I wonder if the amputations were pre or postmortem. The word amputation makes me think pre, but the article leads me to believe it was post.

Edit: I just realized that it says head amputated. That’s usually a postmortem job. My bad.

I made the same mistake at first. Then I saw that the head was also amputated and went “oh, never mind” LOL
