Deanna Sue "Sonny" Willener
The body of Deanna Sue “Sonny” Willener, 29, was discovered August 17, 1989 along the Allegheny River in the Town of Allegany, New York (Cattaraugus County, near St. Bonaventure University). This location is close to Interstate 86 (route 17 at the time).
Her body was in the advanced stages of decomposition. The cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the head.
The last contact with Willener, a resident of 485 Center Road, Akron, Ohio, was on July 31, 1989 when she picked up a prescription refill for thyroid medication at a pharmacy in Akron.
Willener was approximately 5'5" tall, 120 pounds, and had blonde/brown hair and blue eyes. She had two professional tattoos and ten homemade tattoos. She was described by a family member as having substance abuse problems, particularly with alcohol. Willener was also known to have traveled frequently with truck drivers to various parts of the country.
Her homicide remains unsolved.
