What happened to Eva Fuld? Young teen arrested for brutal murder, police search for others

"According to court documents, at about 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 14-year-old Jakhim Robinson and others knocked on Eva Fuld's apartment door, where she lived alone on Linwell Terrace in Syracuse, in the Grant Village apartment complex.

She answered the door and the group forced their way inside.


Court documents say Robinson stole her credit cards, insurance cards, various wallets, and keys including her vehicle.

During the robbery, investigators said Fuld was stabbed, beaten and ultimately died from her injuries."

This is horrifying on so many levels. Rest in peace, Ms. Fuld.

The revelation of the police chase provides an answer to why authorities believe others might have been involved in Fuld’s murder: Jahkim was with two others, in a stolen vehicle, not long after her death.

So far, only Jahkim has been charged in Fuld’s murder, Fitzpatrick said Tuesday morning.

Even though Jahkim is accused of stealing Fuld’s vehicle after the homicide, that’s not the vehicle he and the two others were in later when chased by police, the DA said.

“They ditched her car and stole another one and led cops on a high-speed chase,” Fitzpatrick said. “Of course, they were all released and cops did not know Eva was dead.”

The DA declined to say whether police were tipped off to Jahkim’s alleged involvement in Fuld’s murder at the time of the police chase. Because Jahkim is accused of stealing yet another vehicle, the link back to Fuld’s death remains unclear.

Young teen pleads guilty in brutal murder of 84-year-old woman in Syracuse

Jahkim Robinson, now 15, pleaded guilty to charges filed against him in the murder of Eva Fuld, 84, at her Grant Village apartment in Syracuse in January 2021.

Jahkim pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary on Dec. 20, 2021. He will serve his sentence in a juvenile detention facility until he turns 18 when he will be transferred to an adult prison.
