A masked man entered a Bronx NYPD stationhouse and allegedly threatened cops with two knives over the weekend – but a judge allowed him back on the street after prosecutors put up no resistance.
Terrifying footage shows the suspect — identified by sources as Montey White — wearing a black face-mask and a bright yellow hoodie as he casually strolls past a bemused-looking woman into the 40th Precinct at around 10 p.m. on Saturday night.
As he reaches to open the security gate at least one knife is seen in his right hand, and an internal police document allege he was carrying both a dagger and a kitchen knife.
Another angle shows officers inside the station immediately spotting him, yelling commands as at least one plainclothes cop draws a handgun.
As a cuffed man being questioned nervously runs away, the officers force the suspect — who was also wearing a backpack and carrying a green plastic shopping bag — onto the ground.
“What are you doing, man?” one officer can be heard saying as other officers run in as backup.
Police sources say White has nine prior arrests, including for weapons charges and for an alleged rape on an incapacitated woman at a homeless center in Staten Island in February 2017.
He was hit with a slew of extra charges for Saturday’s incident, including criminal possession of weapons, menacing police officers and obstructing government administration, according to court documents.
Despite being accused of putting officers under “reasonable fear” of “serious physical injury or death,” White was released on his own recognizance Sunday after prosecutors from Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark didn’t even request bail — infuriating cops who feared the carnage an armed intruder could have caused.
“Darcel Clark is the worst prosecutor in the world,” one police source fumed.
“What if he had two guns? He could have shot cops up.”
