Exclusive: Human skeletal remains found at former 'mob dumping ground'

Central Hudson says it has owned the property since 1954.

NEW WINDSOR — Central Hudson crews discovered human remains during an excavation for a gas line installation project this week, police said.

A forensic identification unit confirmed the bones were human and was investigating the discovery after crews working near Sloop Hill Road called police Tuesday afternoon, State Police said in a statement.

It was unclear how long the remains had been buried in the Orange County town.
