From NAMUS:

Jeffrey Hoffere was last seen on 06/20/2024 around 0600 hours sitting in his parked vehicle in a tree service work yard. His vehicle was observed by friends later that day (06/20/24) in the same location with the key left in the ignition and driver's door left open. Jeffrey's sleeping hammock was missing from his car, but his toiletries, clothing, and his backpack were left behind in his vehicle. A neighborhood canvas and grid search of neighboring woods and swamp areas yielded negative results.

No photo on NAMUS, but Rochester news had this report and photo:

Jeffrey D Hoffere, dob 3/7/1979

On the morning of June 20 he was intoxicated his brother says , and planned on sleeping it off which was normal for him. He would either sleep in his car or a hammock.
Hoffere wasn’t reported missing until July 7.
After extensive searches, these were called off

Jeffrey Hoffere, 45, was last seen around 6 a.m. June 20near the Country Hills Townhomes & Apartments complex on East Henrietta Road.

Police said Hoffere was "highly intoxicated" when he was last seen, and he was known to take his hammock into the woods to "sleep it off."

the effort includes a search of ponds and waterways in the area.
"Behind that are some trails that lead to wetlands and a marshy area," he said. "The marsh has poison ivy, has ticks, has leeches, there are wildlife back there, there are signs that there is a bear back there, there's a coyote den back there. All these things we have to be aware of as we do our search."

Police said Hoffere's phone is unable to be pinged but the search for him will continue.

There is an out of business company in his name, with DUNS 086887481

The remains were found to be that of an animal.

I know this has been classified as a "Missing Person," but I really hope the police are looking into this as something other than.

With what has been released so far, this smells a lot like a homicide. I won't speculate as to who, but it was definitely someone who cared enough about him to not just leave the body there.

Drivers side door open (unlocked?), keys in the ignition, everything left behind except for a hammock (perfect for wrapping someone up)? "Going into the woods to sleep it off" just doesn't fit. Especially with the keys in the ignition.

They say that the family saw his car there but then don't report him missing for two weeks? The family used the excuse that he liked to travel.... But you saw his car there. You knew where he was and it wasn't traveling.

I don't like it. It all seems odd.
