The Broome County Sheriff's Office is continuing in their search for a missing man from Endicott, 48-year-old Joseph Maine.

The office is asking the community within a mile radius of 700 North McKinley Avenue to check their security and doorbell cameras for any leads on his location.

Residents are also asked to check sheds, garages, or buildings where Maine could have taken shelter.

I live nearby and we have checked our cameras repeatedly along with the garage, and continue to keep our eyes peeled while out and about. The area around his home is not really an area that the public can search as it's mostly (densely) residential with small businesses scattered throughout, there aren't any stretches of forest or land that isn't someone's backyard until you get beyond that 1-mile perimeter. Once you get beyond the police's designated search area, it does get rural fairly quickly. The handful of parks in the area are open spaces and well-used by the community. There are a couple of small ponds in the area as well as the river; I believe the pond nearest to his home has been searched.

Update:
The Broome County Sheriffโ€™s Office said based on numerous tips, video surveillance and witness reports, investigators believe the missing Endicott man spent several hours near the intersection of North McKinley Ave. and Woodrow Ave. in the Town of Union.
