Buffalo, N.Y. — New York State Police have identified the Buffalo Sewer Authority employee fatally shot after the vehicle he was riding in was ambushed Thursday morning.

Troopers said Keyshawn Gault, 22, of Buffalo, died at the scene of the shooting where two of his coworkers were wounded, with one of them reportedly being sent to the hospital in serious condition.

New York State Police responded around 11:20 a.m. near the Peace Bridge for a reported shooting on I-190 southbound. Once there, they found three Buffalo Sewer Authority employees who had been shot while traveling in a city vehicle.

Investigators determined several shots were fired into the city vehicle from a dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee which was also traveling southbound on I-190.
