Both UIDs were found together in the lower Niagara River, just past the whirlpool. No PMIs but the look of their skin suggests that they could have entered the water at the same time. No other information suggesting these UIDs were known to each other.

If you turn the tattoo it looks like there is B.C.?.H. BC could stand for British Columbia.

I wonder what theories LE has about how they ended up there. Jumpers? Accident? Could the Niagara Falls be connected at all? Did they have noticeable injuries leaning towards another cause of death then drowning? Could the bodies be murdered elsewhere and dumped? It feels like they were together, but we don't know. How big is the chance two bodies show up in the same spot at the same time and not belonging together? So many questions, but maybe it's not really relevant at the moment.

The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a sighting of two bodies floating in the Niagara River in front of the New York State Power Authority on Lewiston Road. New York State Police assisted in the search for the bodies and located them in the river near Stella Niagara.

The Sheriff's Office Marine Unit received help from the U.S. Coast Guard in retrieving the bodies.

An investigation by the Niagara County Criminal Investigation Bureau is ongoing.

Investigators say they are looking to identify the the two bodies, which were found around 11:40 a.m., floating in the water near the New York Power Authority facility in the 5000 block of Lewiston Road.

The bodies were eventually recovered further downstream near the Stella Niagara campus. The sheriff's office Marine Unit, with assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard, was able to pull the bodes from the water.

New York State Police troopers also assisted in locating the bodies and with their recovery.

Investigators said the bodies were those of a man and a woman. It's not clear of they may be suicide victims or entered the river for another purpose.

Deputies also said they're attempting to determine where and how the two individuals entered the river.

"We're still investigating how they got into the water," Sheriff Michael Filicetti said. "It while probably take some time to work this out."

It seems that the Niagara river is very dangerous and lot's of accidents have happened.

Swimming in the Niagara River is not safe. <Especially the lower Niagara river> The waters are fast-moving and have strong currents that can easily sweep even the strongest swimmers downstream. Moreover, the river is home to dangerous whirlpools, eddies, and rapids that can be deadly even for experienced swimmers.
