NYC woman, 34, dies after she’s found in garbage chute of Staten Island apartment building
''A woman was declared dead after rescuers found her Friday in the garbage chute of a Staten Island apartment building.
Firefighters and police found the 34-year-old woman around 2:25 p.m. in a chute near the third floor of the Silver Lake Apartments on Victory Blvd., near the Silver Lake Golf Course.
One third-floor resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a neighbor told him about the grisly find — so he went to check out the chute, about 20 feet from his door.
“I said, ‘Listen, you’ve got to call the cops on this one. This is a dead woman,’” he said. The woman, who he didn’t recognize, was fully clothed, and appeared to have trauma on her face, he said.''
''Cops were still trying to determine how she wound up in the chute, and whether she was the victim of foul play.''
''The third-floor resident who found the body said he doubted she fell into the chute on her own. “You’d have to be a contortionist,” he said.''
