With just a few days to go until Christmas, a New York family is anxiously hoping and praying for the safe return of Lynette Hernandez, a 27-year-old mother, who has been missing since October.

“I just want to find my daughter,” Lynette’s mother, Lourdes Pinzón told Dateline. “I need her. And her daughter needs her mother. Everyday she asks questions. And I don’t have answers.”

More at New York woman still missing two months after disappearing from Brooklyn

This is very concerning as it's been over 2 months already since Lynette went missing. It's a shame that the family seems to be getting a runaround from police.

Article states, "Days turned into weeks and Lourdes grew worried that she hadn’t heard from Lynette. And even more worried that Lynette had not called Bella." Does this mean that Lynette was supposedly to have gone ahead and gotten things ready before her daughter moved...or was grandma supposed to keep Bella permanently with NY being only Lynette and her boyfriend?

Very concerned regarding the police. I get jurisdiction but it seems more like passing the buck! IMO

Family desperate to find 27-year-old mom missing since early October

Lynette Hernandez was thinking about moving to Brooklyn in September to live with her boyfriend. Her mother, Lourdes Pinzón, wasn’t sure that was a good idea, but the 27-year-old was “excited to move to an apartment in Brooklyn,” she said.

Hernandez and her 6-year-old daughter Bella were living with Pinzón, but neither have seen her since September 19, a disappearance her family says isn’t in character.

The boyfriend in Brooklyn told Pinzón he last saw Hernandez on October 4. “He thought she was off with friends. Or back with us,” Pinzón said.

Pinzón filed a missing persons report with Nassau County on October 10, and deputies told her she should also file one in Brooklyn. But, she said, police officers there told her they could do nothing because she filed a report in Nassau County.

Back in Nassau County, police detective Kerriann Hoovert told Dateline her department can accept tips and leads about the case, but it’s out of their jurisdiction since Hernandez was last seen in Brooklyn. She said she hopes NYPD will take over the investigation.

“Anyone who has information can call us here in Nassau County, or if you see Lynette in Brooklyn or Queens, immediately call the NYPD in your area,” Hoovert said. “What’s important is that we find Lynette.”

Pinzón, meanwhile, said she feels like she’s on her own.

Family pleads for the safe return of a woman missing since October | KTVE - myarklamiss.com
Lynette’s cousin, Amy Sifuentes, who lives in Queens, told Dateline she was hanging fliers at a bus stop in Jamaica, Queens, when someone approached her and defeatedly said, “Oh, another missing person.”

“It’s disheartening,” Amy said. “There are so many missing people in that area, people have become numb to it.”

Days turned into weeks and Lourdes grew worried that she hadn’t heard from Lynette. And even more worried that Lynette had not called Bella.

“She would always call Bella,” Lourdes said. “Bella has a phone just so her mom can call her. I asked her and I checked her phone. But… nothing.”

Lourdes called family members and friends, asking if they had seen or heard from Lynette. She had been seen at her usual places in Jamaica, Queens and southern Brooklyn, but no one could pinpoint the last time she was seen.
