According to the Nassau County Police Department, 37-year-old John Strano was arrested and charged on Wednesday, April 1, after a woman reported being attacked inside a home in the Long Island neighborhood of Williston Park.

A New York man has been accused of brutally attacking his elderly mother, asking “why aren’t you dying?” as he beat her with a metal object and choked her.

Strano allegedly told police that he’d asked his mother “Why aren’t you dying?” and “Why are you still breathing?” as he carried out the attack, prosecutors said.
