NY - Marcia Morrison, 101, stabbed to death by neighbor, Rochester, 24 July 2018

Greg Jesmer, age 54, was charged with murder Tuesday after the body of Marcia Morrison, 101, was found in her apartment at the apartment complex off Westfall Road. Morrison's body had been stabbed repeatedly to the neck and throat. Jesmer was Morrison's neighbor. But, the motive behind the crime remains unknown.

In an unrelated case, Jesmer is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Police say these charges stem from an incident where he offered a 13-year-old girl $500 to come back to his apartment. According to a felony complaint, Jesmer followed the girl off the bus and continued running after her even after she asked him to go away. Officers say Jesmer continued to follow her until an adult intervened.

Jesmer is being held in Monroe County Jail. His next hearing is set for July 30.

Court docs: Man stabbed 101-year-old neighbor to death

Police say more charges could be filed in a case that has stunned the community. Jesmer and Morrison both lived at the Rochester Highlands apartment complex on Green Knolls Drive.

At 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, Rochester Police and the Rochester Fire Department responded to a welfare check at an apartment complex on Green Knolls Drive after a senior transportation company was unable to reach the woman that they had been picking up on a weekly basis. Upon entry, investigators discovered Morrison's body inside.
