''WESTVILLE — New York State Police continue their investigation into an 18-year old homicide of a Franklin County woman.

The investigation into the cold case is ongoing, as state police look for more information on a homicide that took place in October 2002.

Marie H. Fleury, 64, of Westville, was found murdered in her home on State Route 37 in Westville on Oct. 17, 2002, according to a press release from the New York State Police.

Mrs. Fleury was last seen by her husband, Robert Jay Fleury, around 4:15 p.m. of the same day, when he left the couple’s residence and went to Le Cordon Bleu Tavern in Trout River, according to the press release.''

NYS agencies provide new details on Westville cold case

The case, which has baffled investigators for years, is experiencing renewed interest and hope for justice thanks to advancements in forensic processing.

Senior Investigator Aaron Stefanik of the NYS Police Cold Case Unit shared insight into their efforts, stating, "Because of those advancements in forensic processing, we do revisit evidence, and we try to re-process as much as we can that's needed. And often that will lead to new developments."
