He took admission in American College of Commerce and Technology, New Jersey, USA, in the year 2015.

He was also working out a part-time job at a mobile shop in New York.

Last Friday he called his mother Meraj and told some people were blackmailing him and he was in desperate need to talk to his brother Shujath.

His brother Shujath contacted the mobile store owner where his brother had been working and the information he got was that his brother had abruptly left the store. This was captured in the CCTV footage. He had not even informed anyone in the store that he was leaving. He was working in a shop at 5W 183 St Bronx, 1054, New York. "From what I can understand, my brother faced threats or he was harassed by an extortionist," Shujath said.

Since last Friday Shujath has been calling his brother in the US but his phone has been switched off.

“Our only concern was on his safety and he himself called up and confirmed that he is safe,” Mirza Mukharam said, adding that during a brief telephonic conversation he said he is safe and there was no need to worry.

According to Mukharam, he went away willingly and wanted to stay away for some time and has now asked to stop searching for him.
