* Distinguishing Characteristics: Dark hair. Muscular enough build to be a weightlifter or laborer. He had a chronic respiratory infection and arthritis.
* Dentals: Available; several cavities.
* Clothing: He was wearing black Levi 550 jeans, a blue hooded pullover sweatshirt, and a black Hanes t-shirt with the words Puerto Rico, white palm trees, green and yellow iron-on type design, and black Reebok sneakers, size 8.
* Belongings: Yellow plastic flashlight and a bottle of rum in a black duffle bag.

Case History
Sometime around late 1996, the man packed a yellow plastic flashlight and a bottle of rum in a black duffle bag, and headed a few hundred feet off Harvey Road, near the Colonial Hill apartment complex. Then he sat down with his back against a tree, put a pistol to his left eye and pulled the trigger.
By the time a logger stumbled upon the decomposed remains on March 22, 1997, the man had already been dead at least one winter, maybe longer.

* Other: At the time of his disappearance, he was working as a carpenter.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Dale was last seen in downtown Sault Ste. Marie between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on May 18, 1996.
He had attended a social gathering earlier that evening, which ended with friends at a local bar called the Downtowner. He left the establishment on foot, and was last seen walking westward on a paved road known as Moloney's Alley.
He has not been seen or heard from since.
A missing person report was officially filed at 4:44 a.m. Monday, May 20, 1996, with the Sault Police Department. An intense search including local law enforcement, the auxiliary police and other volunteers was conducted in the City of Sault Ste. Marie including the Ashmun Bay area. It eventually mushroomed throughout Chippewa County but in the hours, days, weeks and now, years, that followed, no new information has been shed on the mysterious disappearance.
The missing person case currently sits in the desk of Det. Mike Langendorf of the Sault Police Department who admits there isn't much he can do without a good solid lead. At this stage, he believes there are two distinct possibilities -- either Dale intentionally disappeared of his own volition, or somebody did something to him and they aren't talking.
Langendorf refused to speculate as to which situation was more likely.
"He didn't have a lot of money, he wasn't in a vehicle and he didn't have any credit cards," said Langendorf, adding, "There are no cab records. No one ever came in and said they picked up a hitchhiker fitting that description and took him to Kinross. There's nothing like that. On the other hand, there's absolutely no evidence of foul play."
Dale left behind a wife and three children.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Commu was last seen at his residence, 272 West River Road, South Dumfries Township, Ontario on March 31, 1996.
At 7:00 p.m. on this date, a neighbour went to the residence and found the front door open and his compact disc player repeatedly playing the same song. The investigation has revealed that Commu had been despondent over a failed relationship and an illness in the family.
Commu has not contacted any family members or friends since his disappearance

Circumstances of Disappearance
Berthelot was last seen at his parents' home in Leamington, Canada in August 1996. After months of unemployment and depression, Bruce indicated that he was going away for a little while and asked his mother for $1000. He was offered a truck but refused.
Bruce is a skilled carpenter, and enjoys fishing and boating. He smoked cigarettes and drank beer to excess at the time of his disappearance. He was also a bartender at one time.
Bruce once lived in Manitoba, so the family attempted to locate him by contacting fishing lodges in the northern part of the province. Those earlier attempts were unsuccessful. Tips have come in that say he was spotted in Winnipeg, but the search there has been to no avail.
He has had no contact with any member of family or any relatives or friends since leaving in 1996.

He left home without explanation and was never heard from again. His possible destination is Florida or Minnesota.

His vehicle was found abandoned in North St. Louis, Missouri. The keys were in the car and the drivers door was left standing open. Bolin is a former minister of the Church of God.

It is possible John Doe was reported missing before 1996, or that he was reported missing but the case has not been made public.

Of course its also possible that he was not reported missing at all.....

I just got done speaking with Investigator Rick Sauer of the New York State Police. This is no longer his case, but since he was the person most familiar with the case, he was the person who called me back.

I was a little surprised that he had not heard of DoeNetwork or Charley Project, since his name is listed as the contact in DoeNet. But he sounded interested in the idea that there are private citizen researchers out there working on these cases. He says that a few years ago, he received an inquiry on this case from a PCR who was a criminal justice student (perhaps it was PonderingThings) with a lead that didn't pan-out.

But from his tone of voice, he seemed interested in the info, and said that he would dig up the case file and look into it. He also said that he would call me back when he finds out whether or not this lead pans-out.

I just got a call back from the detective assigned to this case. He was just handed the case file along with my tip, and was calling me to see if I had any additional info on Suroush Saket-Oskoui other than the Charley Project page. He was thinking that I was from another LE agency, and was making sure that Montgomery County Police was the correct contact. I explained that I called as a private citizen researcher and was not from any LE agency, and the Charley page was all I had on Oskoui.

But he commented that this looked like a very good possible, and he will get right on the phone with Montgomery County MD Police to check into it. He says that he will call me when he finds out anything more.

this UID is not in Namus. given the criteria we have, I thought this guy was as good a potential match as any, although his face and the drawing of the UID are not a great lookalike.

Carlos Diaz, missing from the Bronx in Dec 1986, was 32 y.o. and 5'8". hard to tell from the rather shady pic of Carlos what his build was like as the UID was described as muscular.
