Police are searching for a missing man who was last seen yesterday in Bensonhurst.

According to authorities, 51-year-old Patrick Martorello was last seen on Tuesday, April 2 leaving his home at 15th Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue at around 7 a.m..

Martorello is described as white, approximately 5’8” and 210 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

Body Found In Hudson River Near Chelsea, Police Say

CHELSEA, NY — Officers found a dead body in the Hudson River Thursday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to a call about a body floating in the Hudson River near Chelsea about 2:10 p.m. Thursday, police said.

When cops arrived, they found a fully clothed male floating, police said. He was then taken out of the water at Chelsea Piers near West 24th St. and 12th Ave., police said.



There were no obvious signs of trauma, and the investigation is ongoing. The person's age was not immediately known. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

I would be pretty surprised it that ended up being him. Chelsea Piers isn't incredibly close to where he was last seen. He would have had to take public transportation or drive to chelsea piers. Driving it takes about 45 mins depending on traffic/time of day and over an hour with public transportation.

No prob! As for the area he lives in/was last seen in.. I only know the Bay Ridge area (which is west of his last location) and some other parts of Brooklyn.. I'm not terribly familiar with 15th Ave & Bay Ridge Ave.

Alot of Italian Mobsters lived and still do in Bensonhurst. I agree with the other posters I do not believe his body ended up at Chelsea Piers it would have went in the other direction.

I lived in Bensonhurst for years...I also find it very unlikely that he would have ended up anywhere near Chelsea. Bensonhurst is a very insular, family-oriented area. Relatively few people venture outside of Brooklyn on a regular basis. Some work downtown in the financial district, but it is more common to stay close to home. And, as houndpounder says, strong mob presence - one of the few places where Italian mob still operate. Here and in Howard Beach in Queens.

As iulia mentioned, his profile photo changed August 19, out of 10 of his friends 1 is from Brooklyn, 1 is unknown, the rest are in Poland. Is he now in Poland? All of his facebook pages have about 10 or less friends and little activity.
