I've been posting on the page for Edward Edgar Nye, as I've been trying to match Philipstown Doe for decades, and I think EEN is the match. I'd sent an email to both Namus and NYS and received a response from NYS that the tip has been passed on to Vicap.
Of note, NYS shows a felony warrant issued for EEN in 1989 on its site and I wonder if that caused confusion since Nye actually fled in 1983. According to other sites, Doe had worn braces at one time, and I'd imagine that might be known about Nye and thus confirm an ID.
Wondering if @beavt might have submitted as well - I'm just seeing his/her entry now. I don't see how this Doe could not be Nye, and hoping for an update soon!
