It varies by state. In New York, Family members of a loved one who has gone missing contacts their local law enforcement agency and articulates the fact that the missing person has a cognitive impairment. That call can trigger the Missing Adult Alert process, if local LE thinks the situation meets the criteria.

Not much new here except it has information about her potential career as a geriatric social worker.

And: " She is believed to still be in the Mid Hudson Valley, especially the counties of Dutchess, Putnam, Orange and Ulster. She is known to frequent the Mount Beacon area and may be in wooded areas near Fishkill/Beacon, or on trails in Parks."

Police Searching for Missing Fishkill Woman (Updated)

Update: Fishkill police on Dec. 31 they had identified a body found that morning in the woods in the Beacon Hills section of Fishkill as that of Rachel Caprari. They said there was no evidence of foul play.

Too many suicides around the holidays. Just from her photos is clear she had a lot more life left to live.
