''Missing Person: Sam (Samantha) Nordquist

Age: 24 Years Old

Description: Born female, identifies as male

Race: Black

Height: 5 ft 3 inches

Weight: 230lbs

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Brown

Last Known Location: Canandaigua, NY

''The New York State Police, SP Canandaigua, are actively investigating the disappearance of Sam (Samantha) Nordquist, who was last in contact with family at the end of January 2025. Sam, originally from Minnesota, traveled to New York in September 2024 and has since lost contact with loved ones.

**Sam was last known to be staying at Patty’s Lodge in Canandaigua, NY, and was last seen in early February. Sam could possibly be in the Geneva, NY and Canandaigua, NY areas, and is known to travel by bus **

''His sister, Kayla Nordquist and his mother, Linda Nordquist spoke with the Democrat & Chronicle stating that they are currently on their way to Canandaigua from Minnesota to search for him.

They said that he missed his round-trip flight back to Minnesota in October and that he has been missing work too, which is out of character for him. His family also stated that it is also out of character for him to go this long without speaking to his family and that they are very concerned about his safety.''

This is right by me. Patty's Lodge is not a reputable place. Here is another flyer with additional information. View attachment 564401
The scenario described on the flier is VERY disturbing, and I could all-too-well imagine some lowlife “catfishing” this individual with the intention of taking all of his money and then disposing of him (purely conjecture here, but I could see said lowlife wrongly envisioning that, as a transgender man, Sam might not have a close relationship with his family members, or a large circle of friends, who might start asking questions when he didn’t return to MN as planned—thankfully, that seems to not be the case here) .

@amytothekate Can you say more about why Patty’s Lodge is “not reputable”?

If you Google search "Patty's Lodge Canandaigua NY" and take a look at the reviews, it confirms what I've known about it largely being regarded as a drug and insect-infested "motel" that is long-term housing for many tenants. An all-around no-good situation.

Nordquist was last seen in February. Nordquist was staying at Patty’s Lodge at 4212 New York State Route 5, Crane said.

Nordquist identifies as man and is five foot three and weighs 230 pounds, Crane said. He has brown eyes and brown hair, she said

Sam Nordquist, 24, traveled from Minnesota to Central New York in September and was last heard from in January, said Trooper Lynnea Crane, a spokesperson for the State Police.

From early December 2024 to February 2025, Nordquist was subjected to “repeated acts of violence and torture which ultimately led to his death,” said Capt. Kelly Swift, head of Troop E’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

“In my 20-year law enforcement career, this is one of the most horrific crimes I’ve ever investigated,” Swift said

According to a felony complaint, the suspects sexually assaulted Nordquist with a table leg and broomsticks, and beat him with sticks, dog toys, ropes and belts until he died. His body "was then transported in an attempt to conceal the crime," Swift said during a press conference Friday at the New York State Police Troop E headquarters in Farmington

Michelle Pickard, who lives in Farmington and assisted with the search effort, said Nordquist's heartbroken family is on the way from Minnesota and called the details of the case "sickening."

"Sam’s a human being, a beautiful one, and it’s just unfortunate that people are that disgusting and that ugly," she said

Investigators also need to determine Nordquist’s relationship with the suspects as well as the suspects’ relationships with one another.

“The facts and the circumstances of this crime are beyond depraved,” Ritts said. “No human being should have to endure what Sam endured.”

According to a joint statement from the district attorney and State Police on Sunday, they said they have “no indication that this murder was a hate crime at this time.”

The New York Civil Liberties Union on Monday issued a statement saying, trans people are four times more likely than cisgender people to be victims of violent crime.

CNY Pride posted on Facebook over the weekend about the murder and said the organization will not stop fighting and reminded people that Pride started as a riot.

“Our souls ache for him and anyone that loved him,” the organization said. “Hug the people you love, and if you need a hug yourself, we will find you one.”

''Two of the five individuals charged with second-degree murder in Nordquist's death have prior convictions related to sexual offenses against minors. Patrick Goodwin, 30, was sentenced to 10.5 years in prison in 2015 for first-degree sexual abuse of a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl.

He was released in 2023 and was living at Patty's Lodge Motel in Hopewell, New York, at the time of his arrest. Patty's Lodge Motel is where court documents say Sam was tortured and Killed sometime between Jan. 1 and Feb. 2.
Another suspect, Kyle Sage, 33, was sentenced to two to four years in prison in 2022 for fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree distribution of 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 to a minor. Sage was released from prison in May 2024.
"These people that did this to him are pure evil, they're not even human," Sam's mom Linda said.''

Can’t begin to imagine what this poor man went through at the hands of those monsters.

I’d be looking at other possible vulnerable people who had stayed at this place - they need to be accounted for as I worry a lesser loved person than Sam could easily just be ‘disappeared’ by this group.
