The Verge's take on Caroline Ellison is basically that she's a people-pleaser.

Maybe Kaplan had a tough time understanding why Ellison got sucked into this, but I think I have a clearer picture now. Give Ellison an authority figure, and she will try to please them — behaving as obediently as she can, stressing about how she can be better, and basing her happiness on how close she comes to perfection. A straight-A student, a reliable employee (and co-conspirator), and — eventually — a matchless cooperating witness. If this is where being a good girl gets you, I recommend being bad.

Shortened and bolded for focus.

If that's the case, then she's going to be a model prisoner. No one will have to worry about any trouble from her. *chuckle*

How did I miss this newsbite from last week?

Sean Combs is living in the same unit of a Brooklyn jail as Sam Bankman-Fried, the crypto mogul convicted of fraud, sleeping in a dormitory-style room with a group of other defendants assigned to the same section, according to a person familiar with the living arrangements.

And then today we find out that Diddy hired SBF's attorney.

FTX cryptocurrency fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried’s top lieutenant made fun of the hard time he’s about to serve with a light-hearted post on LinkedIn.
...
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as inmate at FCI Cumberland!” Salame wrote on the social networking site on Wednesday.

Stanford Law School professors Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried are “exploring” the possibilities of a Trump pardon, reports Bloomberg.

On Tuesday, the FTX bankruptcy estate released $1.2 billion to affected customers with claims totaling less than $50,000. This initial distribution is the first step in a lengthy repayment plan, which could end up distributing a total of $16.5 billion.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the estate laid out plans for another distribution that is planned to take place in May.
Still, affected customers might not be getting back as much as they had hoped for. Repayment values are based on prices from Nov. 11, 2022—the day FTX filed for bankruptcy—and are paid in U.S. dollars, according to the website.

Couple of things... Does anyone have the street address for Alameda Research (Caroline Ellison was CEO) in Alameda, California? At least I think they held an office there. I've been trying to find it for another reason, which lead me to their website in the wayback machine. While I didn't find their street address, I found their online job application. Check this question out:

Your question intrigued me as I grew up in Alameda CA. However, it appears that it did not have an office there. It started in Berkeley which is in Alameda county, so that might be the source of the name. Hong Kong seems to be the most cited location. Only Bloomberg mentions the Bahamas.

Bloomberg says it was located in the Bahamas.

Wikipedia says it was based in Berkeley CA and later moved to Hong Kong.

Crunchbase shows Hong Kong and Singapore.

Tucker Carlson's interview with Sam Bankman-Fried was not approved by the US Bureau of Prisons, which placed him in solitary confinement after it was published, per NYT.

Sam Bankman-Fried, former CEO of FTX and a central figure in one of the most sensational scandals in the history of cryptocurrencies, was transferred in recent days to the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, a transit facility of the U.S. prison system.

The transfer took place shortly after an unauthorized video interview with the conservative host Tucker Carlson, recorded at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn.

Some really good pics of FTC in the link at the bottom. I thought some of you might be interested in seeing what where SBK is housed.

On April 28, 2022, OIG staff conducted a site visit at FTC Oklahoma City. We selected this location because BOP officials identified it as an example of a facility in generally good overall condition. During our visit, we documented conditions inside and outside the facility, a sample of which are included below. Overall, we noted that FTC Oklahoma City appeared to be in far better condition than other facilities represented on this site.

Not sure how safe it is for inmates. This one died recently. What the article doesn't way is whether he was harmed or maybe someone smuggled in contraband and he ODed.

And....

Butler, an inmate at the FTC, entered the cell of another inmate and sexually assaulted him. During the sexual assault, Butler held a shank to the victim’s neck and side. SOURCE

And lastly...

Man's stay at the federal transfer center leaves him with traumatic brain injury

I won't be surprised if he is pardoned. Trump is handing out pardons galore to undeserving white collar fraudsters like himself.

O'Neal will pay $1.8 million after he was accused of touting [FTX] as a reputable and trustworthy investment option via paid endorsements.

The BOP estimates that Bankman-Fried will be released on December 14, 2044, less than 21 years after he was sentenced.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has transferred Sam Bankman-Fried to a [low-security] prison in California, according to the BOP’s inmate database.
