A Long Island man shot and killed his brother's ex-wife to keep her from revealing she was pregnant with his child, a law enforcement official said Thursday.

He took his brother's ex-wife, made her pregnant - then killed her because she wouldn't get an abortion.

Yet somehow, ex-Marine Steven Schiovone seemed unremorseful yesterday as he calmly pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Queens Supreme Court.

"I fired one shot, striking her in the back of the head," he said matter-of-factly as victim Susan Ambrosino's mother, sister and other family members wiped their eyes with handkerchiefs and quietly sobbed.

It’s been nearly 20 years since Susan Ambrosino disappeared after a night out. Her parents reported the 26-year-old missing in Franklin Square, New York — just outside New York City — around 3 a.m. on Feb. 22, 2005, after she never came home, leaving her 8-year-old daughter, Taylor, with a babysitter.

“We all knew right away that was very wrong of Susan to not come home to her daughter,” said Anthony Napolitano, Susan’s brother, on Fatal Family Feuds, airing Sundays at 7/6c on Oxygen.
