"A Saratoga County man is accused of killing a man from Ticonderoga with whom he had been in a relationship.

Ronald G. Rayher, 69, is charged with second-degree manslaughter for allegedly causing the death of 40-year-old Thomas J. Krider at his home in the town of Milton on Friday, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday.

Rayher is accused of restraining and binding Krider and administering a substance described as chloroform more than one time, court documents said. In addition, Rayher also was charged with tampering with physical evidence for allegedly moving and hiding effects from the scene of Krider’s death.

Saratoga County Undersheriff Jeff Brown told NewsChannel 13 that the investigation began when Rayher walked into the Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday reporting that someone had died in his basement.

Rayher is accused of recklessly causing Krider’s death. At this point, Brown said it does not appear to be intentional."

Shades of Lucie Blackman.

I saw an article about this case and almost started a thread, thank you @Leopard for starting one! It's reported above that Krider and the perp had known each other for 10 years, had a close relationship, and everything that happened was consensual. Was this some sort of sex act gone awry?

ETA: Everything points to this, so it probably seems like an obtuse question, but Krider was married, and other articles quote his wife.

That's the narrative presented by the man who turned himself in, I'm unsure if there is any sort of evidence on phones/social media/etc. to confirm it since the victim can't speak for himself. I'm sure more information will come out during the trial.

New information came out in court today. Krider's cell phone and eyeglasses have not been found after Rayher disposed of them. There is supposedly a signed contract regarding consensual sexual acts in both hard copy and digital. The judge chose not to reduce Rayher's bail and feels he is a flight risk.
